§ 9.12.010. Definitions.

  • For the purpose of this chapter, the following words shall have the following meanings:

    (1)

    "Bicycle" means either of the following: (1) a device having two wheels and having at least one saddle or seat for the use of a rider which is propelled by human power; or (2) a device having two or three wheels with fully operable pedals and an electric motor of less than seven hundred fifty (750) watts (one horsepower), whose maximum speed on a paved level surface when powered solely by such motor while ridden is less than twenty (20) miles per hour and weights no greater than eighty (80) pounds.

    (2)

    "Owner" includes minors who have the use and control of a bicycle or tricycle with the knowledge and consent of their parent or guardian.

    (3)

    "Tricycle" means a device having three wheels and having at least one saddle or seat for the use of a rider which is propelled by human power.
