§ 9.72.320. Exhaust systems.
No operator of any motor vehicle, while on a street, shall use any cutout, fitting or other apparatus or device or with any part of the exhaust system of said motor vehicle which will allow the exhaust gases from the engine of the motor vehicle to escape into the air without first passing through a silencer, expansion chamber or other contrivance suitable and sufficient for reducing, as far as may be reasonably practicable, the noise which would otherwise be caused by the escape of said gas.
No operator of a motor vehicle shall drive or permit the same to be driven on any street in the city of Council Bluffs, at any time, with any part of the exhaust system, including but not limited to the muffler, not in proper working condition, nor with the cutout of said muffler open.
