§ 3.44.180. Required use of electronic reporting system.

  • In the event the city enters into an agreement to utilize an electronic reporting system all pawnbrokers shall operate and maintain an internet-based computer system with digital photographic capability sufficient to comply with the reporting requirements described in Sections 3.44.150 and 3.44.160. In the event that the electronic reporting system is unavailable to digitally record a transaction for any reason, the pawnbroker shall make a complete written report of the transaction which shall be entered into the electronic reporting system as soon as practicable. Any malfunction or failure of any equipment required to carry out the reporting requirements of this chapter shall not exempt pawnbroker from recording and reporting the information required under this chapter, and such malfunction or failure shall be corrected by the pawnbroker as soon as practicable. Any costs associated with providing required information to the police department in the format required under this chapter shall be borne by the pawnbroker.
