§ 17.10.160. Emergency orders.

  • (a)

    Whenever, in the judgment of the building official, an emergency exists that requires immediate action to protect the public health, safety, or welfare, an order may be issued without a hearing or appeal, directing the appropriate person to take such action as is appropriate to correct or abate the emergency. If circumstances warrant, the building official may act to correct or abate the emergency.

    (b)

    Any party affected by an emergency order shall be afforded a right to appeal upon proper request and as soon as practical, but such appeal will in no case stay the abatement or correction of such emergency in the interim.
