§ 2. Elections and Qualifications.

  • The mayor shall be elected at large for a term of four years which shall begin and end at noon on the first day in January which is not a Sunday or legal holiday following a regular city election.

    A candidate for the office of mayor shall, at the time of filing for the office, be an eligible elector and resident of the city. No person shall be disqualified from candidacy for office of mayor because such person holds public office, either elected or appointed, and no holder of any such other office shall be required to resign such other office in order to become and remain a candidate for the office of mayor.
